MIA gives Zoes ultimatum

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has given a three-day ultimatum to operators who are currently running poro and sande activities in Liberia to dissolve them with immediate effect.

A strongly worded statement quotes Internal Affairs Minister Morris Dukuly as saying that failure to have any groove closed by the deadline will leave the Ministry with no other alternative but to work with the National Council of Chiefs and Elders take appropriate actions.

The Ministry said its decision is intended to ensure that there is no outbreak of the Ebola virus Disease in any Poro or Sande grove in Liberia.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is also warning facilitators of Poro and Sande activities to stop.
