MIA Holds Another Strategy Workshop

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that it will this weekend continue with its  strategic planning workshop with both Superintendent and Development Superintendents from the Central and Southern regions of the country in Gbarnga, Bong County.

The workshop which is being sponsor by the EU’s LTTA/CDP and UNDP’s LDLD programme forms part of a consultation process. The workshop is part of MIA’s efforts to encourage the participation leading to the ownership of local government officials, traditional leaders and civil society in MIA’s strategic planning process for the purposes of strengthening both the quality of the strategy and its institutional sustainability.

The workshop in Garnga, will be held at the county’s administrative building. The workshop is expected to begin with discussion of the following as expectations: County Inputs in strategic  planning, Exit plan for donors programs,, Development of a National Road map, Develop TOR for all MIA staff  and the Role of community in rural development

A statement released by the organizers, quoted one of its consultants as saying these expectations could be met on a short/long time basis. The statement said some of the expectations are to build a team for the implementation of the strategic and setting up a clear objective.

It further explained that a taskforce comprising of Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Governance Commission has been established to address some of the problem faced by the Ministry.

The object of the workshop is to amongst others have a holistic approach of government of Liberia assistance towards formulation of Ministries plans. Assist MIA implementation and all plans including CDA, PRS, Lift Liberia, etc.
