MIA holds decentralization media confab

A two-day conference on the role of the media in Liberia’s decentralization program is to take place from November 16-17, 2016 in the provincial city of Gbarnga, Bong County.

The national media conference is being organized by the Liberia Decentralization Support Program (LDSP) under the Ministry of Internal Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, Press Union of Liberia and the Association of Liberian Community Radio (ALICOR).
The two-day Working Session is intended to deepen the understanding of media practitioners about decentralization in Liberia and its implementation.
The conference also intends to enhance relations with the media by which a partnership is formed to properly inform the population on the implementation of the decentralization program and its components.
Participants will include journalists from Monrovia and community radio stations across the country.
The Liberia Decentralization Support Program is being implemented in partnership with the European Union, Swedish Government, USAID, UNMIL and UNDP.
