Minister of Posts launches Internet facility at Nimba University

Nimba, Liberia, May 22, 2025—According to Minister Sekou Kromah, the launch is part of a government endeavor to digitalize facilities at private and public universities and colleges across the country in partnership with other institutions.

He disclosed plans to provide internet facilities to Liberians at all levels and various learning institutions here. 

Minister Kromah spoke recently during observance of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD).

The event was held under the theme: Gender equality in digital transformation. 

The occasion was characterized by the launch of the C-squared internet facilities at Nimba University in Sanniquellie, Nimba County. 

Internet providers, including Csquared, KCOMM and Telecel alongside Telecommunications Commissioner jointly pledged to enhance government plans in providing internet facilities to Liberians across the country, including villages and towns and cities among others. 

The board chair for Csquared, Maria Harrison, pledged her commitment to students especially, female students to make use of said facility and enhance their learning process. 

Dr. Samuel Duo, Vice President for Administration, at the Nimba University termed the gesture as a great relief to her administration. 

Nimba County District#2 Representative, Nyah Garsaye Flomo, whose effort helped in taking the project to his district, urged the students and the administration to make sure the university is fully functional. 

The World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) was celebrated with the theme “Gender equality in digital transformation.”
