Minister Wie calls for unity among Liberians

Deputy Internal Affairs Minister for Urban Affairs Paulita C. Wie is calling for unity among Liberians to move the country forward.

Speaking to reporters recently at her office, Madam Wie said as part of her promise to the Legislature to tour all the counties, she has toured 13 counties since she took over as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Madam Wie says during her tour, she explained that the election is over and it is now time that citizens work together and put away their differences to put the interest of Liberia first.

Minister Wie says most of the counties she visited do not have electricity and running water while some have hospitals but lack medicine. She says there are serious challenges, adding that some of the counties she went to do not have roads.

She says she also visited the service centers and most of them are still functional while few of them are down because of fuel. Before touring the counties, Mrs. Wie said her first expectation was that the people will receive her as their daughter and a government official.
