Miss Liberia 2016/17 Wednesday

The Eleven Stripes Incorporated in partnership with Liberian Enterprise Incorporated announces the official launch of Liberia’s foremost national social event Miss Liberia 2016.

According to a press statement, the event which will be held in Monrovia on Wednesday 9, November 2016, is under the auspices of the Government of Liberia (GOL) through the Ministry of Information, Culture Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP).

The launch takes place after a three year hiatus imposed by the Government. Eleven Stripes and partners are pleased to announce that the official Miss Liberia pageant event will take place in Monrovia, Liberia on Friday 16, December 2016. A series of public activities, interactions and events will take place prior to the pageant itself.

With the theme “Beautiful Minds-Everything Liberian” the foremost event will showcase Liberia’s great and unique cultural spirit in memory of Liberians lost during the devastating Ebola outbreak of 2014. Thus, Miss Liberia 2016 will celebrate Liberia and its most inspired cultural performers, thinkers, leaders, change-makers and community-builders.

Liberian President, Her Excellency Madame Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and an array of inspiring lineup of Liberia’s finest men and women from all sectors are expected to grace the night of 16 December at the national pageant, while the 15 queens display their respective cultural heritage.

Prominent Liberians expected to grace the occasion include, Lekpele M. Nyamalon, Liberian poet, writer, blogger and Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) Poetry fellow; Barkue Tubman, international social entrepreneur, philanthropist, and advocate for the rights of girls and women; Miss Patrice Juah, former Miss Liberia, Founder MOIE Creations; the Grande Dame of Liberian Music, Aunty MiattaFahnbulleh; Zubin Cooper, Liberian documentary maker, actor and producer, partner Liberian Television; Brenda Brewer-Moore Liberian Philanthropist and Founder KEEP Liberia, Mr. Sebastian Muah, Managing Director of LIBTELCO, Mr. George Kailando CEO and Founder of Kailando Travel Agency and Kailando Petroleum, Serina Cooper, CEO and Founder of African Hippie Clothing; amongst other luminaries and prominent sons and daughters of Liberia.
