MOA launches Nat’l Agricultural Fair

The Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) announces a National Agricultural Fair for February 12-14, 2021, in Gbarnga, Bong County, Liberia. The Ministry is mandated by law to conduct annual National Agricultural Fair in showcasing and promoting the agricultural sector of Liberia.

In accordance with President George M. Weah’s declaration, “Liberians will no longer be spectators in our own economy”, the fair will set the tone and tenor in the nation’s quest to give Liberians the opportunity to improve their lives and get on the road to prosperity and development, as outlined in the Pro Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD).

According to a press release issued over the weekend in Monrovia, the National Agricultural Fair (NAF) will see the largest gathering of actors in the sector, including farmers, agribusiness entrepreneurs and enterprises, innovators, Agricultural students, development partners, financial institutions, and agriculture sector associations, among others.

The three-day event will also provide a space for dialogue about the sector, highlighting agricultural education and training, showcasing of sector investments& interventions, networking, products and enterprise launches, celebrations of farmers’ achievements as well as a platform for government and partners to announce new initiatives, while celebrating successes of past initiatives as well as provide insight on major policy narratives& decisions.

The NAF is being organized by a secretariat composed of Agricultural technocrats and officers, under the stewardship of Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Agriculture, Precious Tetteh.
