MOE Demands Compulsory Leave

The Education Ministry has announced a compulsory administrative leave for all County and District Education Officers who are seeking elective public offices. Already, Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS) Superintendent Madam Victoria Duncan has been relieved of her post on grounds that she’s contesting for a representative seat at the National Legislature.

In the wake of Ducan’s dismissal to allow her pursue her political ambition, education authorities say a new appointment for the office of MCSS Superintendent will be made in consultation with the council of the system.

In another development, the Public Affairs office of the Education Ministry says county school boards will shortly be inducted into office. Communication Director J. Maxim Bleetahn said the induction ceremonies will commence on August 20, 2011, and will climax on the 3rd of September 2011.

He said all of the ceremonies will be officiated by Minister Othello Gongar and his three (3) deputies. Dr. Gongar is expected to head Montserrado, River Cess, Grand Bassa, Margibi, Bomi and Grand Cape Mount Counties.
