MoH vows to immunize every child nationwide

Assistant Health Minister for Vital Statistics, C. Sanford Wesseh says the ministry is committed to collaborating with partners to immunize every child in Liberia.

He says although it is a huge task, but the Ministry of Health is prepared and committed to immunizing all children across the country, stressing that the survival of children in Liberia is one of the ministry’s primary priorities.

Minister Wesseh gave the pledge recently at the close of a Joint Technical Appraisal workshop organized by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations or GAVI in Monrovia.
According to Wesseh, who represented the Minister of Health Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah at the ceremony, the Ministry is overwhelmed by the participation of partners at the workshop and lauds GAVI for its continued support, promising further collaboration with the institution.

In response, senior country manager of GAVI, Madam Joanna Jeurlink, lauds the Ministry of Health for its commitment and reaffirms GAVI’s full support towards the immunization of Liberian children.
Madam Jeurlink also appreciates the cooperation of the Ministry as they work to reduce child mortality here. Editing by Jonathan Browne
