Monrovia Lion Club donates to orphanages

The Greater Monrovia Lion Club has presented a consignment food and non-food items to several orphanages in Monrovia. The distribution of food and non-food items is part of the organization’s annual charity to the less fortunate in society.


Presenting the items at the Susie Guneter Orphanage in Paynesville, outside Monrovia the 2nd Vice President of the Greater Monrovia Lion Club, says the gesture is part of his organization’s social responsibility.

Mr. Patrick Sandike notes that the club will ensure that it continues its humanitarian assistance to society. Sandike says the Greater Monrovia Lion Club will continue to identify with less fortunate in the country.

In response, the overseer of the Susie Guneter Orphanage, Madam Ellen Zeon thanks the club for the assistance to the orphanage. She describes the donation as timely and a lifesaving gesture, indicating that the orphanage is in dire need of both education and medical assistance.

Orphanages benefiting from the humanitarian gesture of the Lion Club include Susie Guneter orphanage and Rocke of Divine Orphanage, amongst others.

Items donated include toiletries, oil, sugar, biscuits, clothing and bags of rice, amongst others. Members of the humanitarian distribution team include, the President of the Greater Monrovia Lion Club, Roland Lafayette Giddings, Margaret C. Youboty, Romell M Giddings, Vivian Innis , Aretha Collins , Eva Bailey Reen and Patrick Sandike , 2nd Vice President.
