Montserrado District# 13 youth urged to embrace education

Montserrado County electoral district# 13 representative aspirant Andy B. Jallah admonishes young people, especially school-going children to commit to their education sojourn, if they should realize their dreams.

He challenges young people, especially college and high school students in the district and Liberia at large to embrace integrity and public service.

in an interview with this paper at the start of inter-communities quizzing tournament for students and graduates at the Bassa Town Hall in New Georgia Estate, electoral district# 13, Mr. Jallah reminds students, “Let be clear on this, the reason why most of you did not do well in the just ended WASSCE Exams, is not because of first time, but it is because what you people call Super Friday.”

He says if the Ministry of Education did not reinforce closure of various beaches doing school hours, students will continue to fail in public tests, because they will always go for Super Friday.

He claims his quest to contest the district seat made vacant by the election of Senator Saah Joseph is to restore lost hope of residents, and erase the damaged image left behind by previous lawmakers.
Mr. Jallah continues that the commitment to serve should be the basic reason for people to aspire for leadership, noting that leadership is not to rule or dictate terms or control of resources for one’s own benefit.

Rather he explains leadership is about galvanizing one’s energy, knowledge and experience to do the things that others have failed to do for the people.

“Many people could be good experts but they will never become better leaders unless they imagine reality that is different from today. Those who have the ability to imagine the pathway to change are the ones who deserve to be elected to public offices”, he argues.

He looks forward to encouraging a vibrant educational sector from nursery to degree level with requisite infrastructure, equipment and instructional staff in place so that any child can have pleasure in attending school in Liberia.

“We want to modernize our education system; it is no secret that the system was described as a mess and we maintain in this district that describing it as a mess is not just enough, but we want to go beyond by fixing our educational sector”, Jallah concludes.
