Motorcyclist suffers acid attack

A19-year-old motorcyclist has been admitted at the Ganta United Methodist Hospital in Nimba County after a gruesome acid attack that left his entire face disfigured.

Victim Solomon Coleman is in critical condition at the Ganta Methodist Hospital.

Police in Ganta have arrested a colleague motorcyclist, 23 years old Emmanuel Duokie, in connection with the attack and charged him with attempted murder.

Suspect Duokie was arrested by residents of LPRC Zone 4 community in Ganta after he allegedly wasted the acid water on his friend, Solomon Coleman, recently.

The suspect had reportedly been indebted to the victim in the amount of 45,000 Liberian Dollars prior to the incident.

The NewDawn Nimba correspondent said suspect Emmanuel Duokie has been indebted to Solomon for the past two months.

This latest incident brings to two, attacks on motorcyclists in Ganta, leaving the first victim dead.

Meanwhile, the mother of Solomon Coleman is calling on government to bring the perpetrator of the gruesome attack against her son to justice.

Mother Mary Kargonleh noted that several motorcyclists, including peaceful citizens had been killed in the county with impunity so many citizens have decided to become law unto themselves.

She said such behavior was unheard of in the past, and stressed the need for the government to quickly intervene to bring the violent attacks under control.
