Recent media report that Gbarpolu County Representative Alfred Koiwood abandons his 17-year-old son to fend for himself has been rejected by the lad Jamel Koiwood.According to the boy, the report was orchestrated by individuals fighting to separate him from his father, whom he said, is doing everything possible to provide him an education for a better future.
In an interview, Jamel disclosed that his father has just concluded payment for his school fees, bought him his uniform and copybooks, and gave him enough cash to begin his academic year. “I do not know where they got their story from”, he added.
He suspects that this might have been orchestrated by political enemies of his dad, Representative Alfred Koiwood who he says are doing everything to tarnish his (Rep. Koiwood’s) repetition ahead of the 2020 senatorial election.
However, Jamel asserts that they will not succeed in their attempt to use him for selfish political gain, as he remains committed to ensuring that his father reaches the highest point in his political career.
Jamel’s mother, Baindu Fumba, similarly clarifies that her son has never been in quarrel with his father, and praises the lawmaker for cooperating with her at all time on issues regarding their son’s education and general welfare.
Madam Fumba told this paper that she was shock by media report that her son’s father has abandoned him, paying less attention to his education.
She appeals Rep. Koiwood not to disown his son for such publication, as it has no iota of truth.
