New Georgia drug syndicate busted

Following intelligence tip-off, operatives of Liberia’s Drugs Enforcement Agency have reportedly arrested narcotic drug suspect Alice Toe in a New Georgia community along the Somalia Drive, and seized 73.9 grams of heroin plus 889.9 grams of precursor allegedly kept in her bathroom by her Nigerian boyfriend, Jeff Bigi Oyee.

Suspect Oyee, who is said to be at large and his arrested girlfriend, Alice, have been jointly charged with multiple crimes of unlicensed sale, administration, trading, dispensation, delivery, distribution, dispatch in transit and transportation of controlled drugs and substance.

The DEA’s Special Drug Squad says it arrested defendant Alice on Friday, 28 August and subsequently seized the 73.9 grams of heroin valued US$2,450 plus 889.9 grams of precursor that is used to process narcotic drug, valued US$8,890, respectively.

The drug encounter agency claims to have established that the boyfriend of a lady identified as Mariamatou Jalloh, Chigozie, is the supplier of defendant Alice’s boyfriend Oyee, including one Henry to be identified. Investigators at the DEA claim to have obtained voluntary confession from suspect Alice, admitting how her Nigerian boyfriend, Oyee, kept the heroin and precursor in her bathroom in New Georgia.

The officers attached a document to the charge sheet, displaying an alleged statement signed by Alice in which the DEA says it informed her of her Miranda rights to legal counsel, telephone and to remain silent during investigation.

The DEA charge sheet says the Nigerian national rented a room in New Georgia for defendant Alice and kept the narcotics – heroin and precursor in the bathroom, concealed in an iron box.
