Nimba wins ‘Best Performing Superintendent of the Quarter Award’

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has named Nimba County Superintendent Fong Zuagele, as the first winner of its new program, ‘Best Performing Superintendent of the Quarter Award’.

A release from the Ministry said the award follows a citation issued by the Public Procurement Concession Commission or PPCC in which the Nimba County Superintendent was singled out for his compliance with policy and regulation of PPCCA and several public financial management practices.

PPCCA is the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission Act, which among other things, requires all public entities to follow a set of guidelines in awarding contracts, expending and managing public resources.

The Internal Affairs Ministry has congratulated Mr. Zuagele for winning the award, while urging other County superintendents and local government officers to emulate the good leadership of the Nimba Superintendent.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced a ‘Best Performing Superintendent of the Quarter’ award program intended to recognize and honor county superintendents, who meet a set of criteria in the discharge of their functions.

The criteria include: Compliance with all procurement and PFM laws, Competence and integrity, ability to work with local institutions and persons, and demonstrated understanding of local governance and commitment to advance Decentralization and Deconcentration platform as well as the National Roadmap and reconciliation.

The Ministry is encouraging all Superintendents to be committed to compliance with PPCC processes and local governance, the release concluded.
