NPP sets convention for July 30th

The long delayed 6th Biennial Convention of the former ruling National Patriotic party (NPP) kicks off next Thursday, July 30th to August 1, 2015 at the party’s national headquarters in Congo Town, suburb of Monrovia.

A press release issued by the party says the 6th Biennial Convention is expected to address among other issues, key constitutional reforms and election of party officials. “Delegates from across the fifteen (15) political sub-divisions of Liberia have already begun arriving in Monrovia for the convention”, the release read.

It says the convention, which has been delayed for more than a year, will be graced by prominent individuals, including stalwarts and partisans of the party. The release quotes interim chairman, Randolph Cooper, as saying, “all is now set for the hosting of the long-delayed convention with the selection of Mr. Jenkins G.W. Wongbe as Chairman of the convention committee.”
