Open Bible Standard Church holds annual convention

Open Bible NDOver three hundred members of Open Bible Standard Churches of Liberia will assemble in Monrovia for the 63rd Annual Conference of the Church, expected to take place beginning this Sunday, July 5- Sunday 12, 2015.

The Conference, to be hosted at the Monrovia Open Bible Standard Church in Congo Town is under the theme “Trusting God for a Glorious Future, with text taken from Jeremiah 29:11.

A release issued by the conference Committee said the Annual Conference was postponed in 2014, due to the Ebola Virus Disease that prevented public gathering of such nature. Delegates are coming from branches of the Church in RiverCess, Maryland, Grand Bassa, Margibi, Gbarpolu, Grand Gedeh, Lofa, Sinoe and Montserrado Counties among others.

International guests and other delegates from the United States of America have begun arriving here for the conference. During weeklong conference delegates would review the role and impact of the church in the society, analyze challenges and strategize for the future.

The delegates are also expected to elect a new National Field Director or Bishop and corps of officers for the National Leadership of the Church. Bishop Charles Z. Barwon is the incumbent National Field Director of Open Bible Standard Churches (Liberia) Inc.

Meanwhile, the Steering Committee of this year’s Annual Conference is calling on the public, especially the Christian community to join the Open Bible Standard Church for the celebration of God’s goodness.-Press Release
