The Ministry of Internal Affair says about 3,034 services have been offered at the Nimba County Service Center barely five months into operations. The County Service Center is part of the National Deconcentration Platform, which is primarily intended to bring services closer to the people.
The Nimba CSC was formally opened on May 2, 2016 by Vice President Joseph N. Boakai along with partners. The report which covers the period May-September, 2016, reveals that a total of $890,260.00 Liberian Dollars was raised in Government’s revenue.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, issuance of birth certificates tops the number of services with 1,594, followed by Psychosocial Services which amount to617, while registration of different categories of businesses total three hundred thirty-three (333).
The statistics show that the month of May witnessed the highest turnout at the Service Center with 1,032 service users visiting. Implementation of the Liberia Decentralization Support Program (LDSP) is funded by the European Union, Swedish Government, USAID, UNMIL and UNDP.
