PACA honors BCTC president
Bong County Technical College (BCTC) president Dr. Roland C. Y. Massaquoi has been honored and certificated by a pro-democracy group under the nomenclature Patriotic Consciousness Association of Liberia (PACA).
Conferring the honor on Friday, 21 June 21 on Dr. Massaquoi at the campus in Gbarnga, Bong County, PACA National Chairman E. Frederick Baye disclosed that his organization honored the BCTC president based on the honoree’s commitment to the educational community in the county and the nation at large.
Mr. Baye at the same time described Dr. Massaquoi as an outstanding, fearless and astute academician whose representation has exposed and prevented unworkable formula and placed blockage on unprecedented activities in the Liberian educational sector.
He added that the motive behind the honor is for PACA to purely testify without fear, sentiment or favor of Dr. Massaquoi, but his continuous and unbending advocacy for social justice and quality education in Liberia.
Further, the PACA chairman indicated that the Bong County Technical College president has proven to be one of Liberia’s best educators here.
“The PACA family is very pleased to bestow this honor and certificate Dr. Roland C. Y. Massaquoi for his outstanding roles in the Liberian educational sector,” Mr. Baye averred.
Receiving the honor, Dr. Massaquoi extolled the organization for its farsightedness in recognizing his continuous stance against educational ills in the Country.
He stressed that it is now time that government and educational stakeholders engaged in practices that will bring about a transformative agenda which will eventually put into place the platform of quality education for all.
He warned young people especially university students to desist from vices that continue to undermine the emerging peace and democracy in the country.By Joseph Titus Yekeryan in Bong—Edited by Winston W. Parley
