Pastor Faces Murder Probe

A 37 year-old pastor of the Salvation Christ Delivering Ministry of Redlight in Paynesville is facing criminal investigation into the alleged murder of a 23 year-old man – Patrick Yeah, whom he had allegedly warned to stay away from his wife before the incident.

Pastor James Molubah was seen at the Liberia National Police Headquarters in Monrovia on Monday, 18 April, but was not permitted to speak to journalists. Prior to victim Yeah’s death about two weeks ago, he had allegedly been doing the nails of Pastor Molubah’s wife before falling in trouble with the suspect.

Pastor Molubah, who is also said to be a petite trader in the commercial district of Redlight, allegedly warned victim Yeah to say away from his wife, but police said the late Yeah reported to his friends that he was threatened by the accused.

Weeks after reporting the alleged threat to his friends, victim Yeah was found dead with knife stuck in his chest before Pastor Molubah and his family immediately absconded the scene. “We are pleased to announce that after a vigorous search by the Liberia National Police, the pastor has now been arrested in Tubmanburg, Bomi County. He has been brought down ro Monrovia,” Police Spokesman Sam Collins told journalists on Capitol Hill Monday, 18 April. Mr. Collins said the pastor is being held for investigation on the basis of his interaction with the victim before his death, saying he will need to exonerate himself from the allegation levied against him.

According to him, the prime suspect in the case of victim Yeah’s death as far as the police was concerned is Pastor Molubah, in order to clear doubts over “why did the pastor move just a minute after the death” of a man he had warned to keep away from his wife.

In another development, police investigators are conducting a probe against three arrested armed robbery suspects, while at the same time, calling on the public to help provide information on about 20 other armed robbers recently freed from prison due to prosecution’s failure to try them.

Mr. Collins said the suspects were waging havoc in communities after the Catholic Justice and Peace Commission freed them from prison after two terms of court without trial due to the inability of witnesses to provide testimonies.
Meanwhile, suspects Emmanuel Davies, Otis Richard and Koko Borbor are facing armed robbery investigation, following separate attacks against citizens of Slipway Community and Brewerville respectively.
Suspects Davies is said to have attacked a lady in Slipway and nearly raped her, while suspects Otis Richard (alias Nut Shaking) and Koko Borbor allegedly executed an armed robbery attack and made away with L$350,000, an unspecified amount of US dollars plus 16 pieces of
phones in Brewerville.
Suspect Borbor’s mother and sister-in-law are also being held because, according to the police, some of the money was discovered in their home.-Edited by George Barpeen
