Pehn-Pehn Accidents Increase in Voinjama

A local businesswoman Miatta Kromah is calling on authorities of Lofa County to take measures to curb the constant wave of motorbike accidents, particularly during the rainy season in Voinjama District. Madam Kromah call comes barely a day after a motorbike and a taxi cab collided head-on, leaving two persons dead and several others seriously wounded.

Speaking recently in an interview with the Liberia News Agency, she disclosed that there have been over 10 casualties recently in Voinjama and its surroundings as a result of motorbike accidents.

She said sometimes riders of commercial motorcycles transport about three to four persons at once, thereby causing accidents. Madam Kromah warned that if nothing were done to address the situation, many persons could lose their lives to bike accidents, particularly during this rainy season.
