Petro-Trade gives to flood victims

It was a joyous moment for residents of Mount Barclay Oldfield community, and Soul Clinic community when three cargo trucks belonging to Petro-Trade Inc drove into the communities, carrying relief including food items for flood victims.


The parent company for Super Petroleum (SP) and Liberian Petroleum (LP) Petro-Trade Inc was seeing playing a humanitarian role on Independence Day July 26 when it identified with residents of both communities after a recent heavy downpour that swept away homes and left many displaced.

Petro Trade Inc. is a Liberian-based importer and supplier of petroleum products and parent company of the Super Petroleum (SP) and Liberian Petroleum (LP) brands.

Relief items donated include 150 bags of rice, 150 pieces of mattress, 150 gallon of Argo Oil, and five cartons of cooking vita, something the company hopes would help in addressing situation of the affected residents of both communities.

Making the presentation on behalf of the company, Petro-Trade Chief Coordinating Officer Abraham Kaydea, says as part of their corporate social responsibilities, they thought it wise to respond to the urgent needs of the residents.

“For and on behalf of our company Petro-Trade, we want to use this medium to say we are sorry for your misfortune; we know how difficult it is to lose your homes, but flood is a natural disaster; we hope you can manage with this”, Mr. Kaydea expresses.

“You may not know, but some of you every time you buy gas from our station, it helps us as a company to reciprocate especially, in these difficult period, it is against this backdrop that we thought it wise to come and identify with you, we will remain working with you.”

He says Petro Trade is here to serve the public, its “Customer First” philosophy is what has propelled it in the Liberian market, creating a loyal customer base.The company, which has been operating here for the past two decades, offers services such as storage facilities and retail service stations as well as supply chain and fleet management.

According to him, the vision is to become a world class company and undisputed market leader in the Liberian petroleum market.“To serve as a benchmark for transparency and accountability in operational activities, and to ensure persistent supply of petroleum products, add value to the Liberian market and increase our customer base”, Mr. Kaydea explains.

Responding on behalf of the Mount Barclay Oldfield community Pastor Fallah Armstrong Forleh expresses delight for the donation by the company and notes since the incident occurred; no one had come to their rescue, not even government.

“I strongly want to thank the Petro-Trade family for taking up their time, efforts, and resources to respond to our need; we never thought this would have happen’ we the victims were thinking what do for this July 26 celebration, but God has done it for us through this company”, Pastor Forleh notes.

“You know when we experienced the Ebola, no one came to our aid, this is first of its kind to see a Liberian company coming to help us, and this is a sign of blessing from God.”

Meanwhile, also speaking on behalf of Soul Clinic community, Pastor James Molubah, founder of the Mighty Fortress Worldwide Ministry, thanks Petro-Trade for the donation and discloses that after the flood, former lawmaker now a senatorial candidate Madam Josephine Francis identified with them by providing rice and water to the victims.

“But today’s donation to this community by this company is different; there is a saying that when you’re worried, anyone that comes to you is a friend”, Pastor Molubah.
