Physically challenged widow cries for support

Ma Marry Wolo, a physically challenged widow in Gbarnga, Bong County has launched an SOS call to goodwill citizens both in Liberia and abroad to help her establish a business to improve her living condition. Mary became paralyzed more than 30 years ago and has over the past years struggled with her current condition, as she usually stands on one leg to gather potato-greens for sale to fend for her kids.

The physically challenged widow lost her husband about one year ago. She tells a local broadcaster in Gbarnga that she wants to establish a provision shop in the VI Community, which according to her will significantly contribute to improving her livelihood. With her little business, Ma Mary believes that she will also be able to send her three children to school and cater to other domestic affairs.

“I am crippled, my husband died and before me and my children eat, I have to either beg or do a contract in someone’s garden, then when they give me potato-greens or cassava leafs, I sell them to buy food,” she explains in sorrow.

Marry says she currently needs food, asking God to bless whoever that will see the need and make a contribution.
