The Liberia National Police (LNP) says it has launched a massive search for a man identified as Fransuah Brown for allegedly murdering a 52 – year – old woman in Zoe-Wlor Community, ELWA.
A police press release dated 30 March describes a gruesome murder incident in which prime suspect Fransuah Brown allegedly chopped victim Joyce O. Joywheh on her forehead several times and slaughtered her on 24 March at about 5:30 PM at her residence.
The accused is said to have resided in the Thinkers Village area in Paynesville. During police investigation, it was established that after the commission of the act, suspect Brown allegedly absconded the scene with the victim’s vehicle and a generator.
But police say they have so far retrieved the vehicle and generator, adding that they are currently at the Zone Eight (8) Police Station in Paynesville, while the deceased was turned over to the family for burial.
The LNP condemns the alleged act by suspect Brown and terms it as a gross violation of Chapter 14, Section 14.1 of the Revised Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia.
The police have called on the public to give information that will lead to the arrest of suspect Brown through contact numbers including 0770800111 /0770800410/ 0770800-415/ and 0770-800423.
The LNP at the same time says it has launched an immediate investigation into the recent mob action on Thursday March 29, 2018 that led to the death of a 26- year- old man identified as Courage Swen in the J.J.Y Community of Gardnerville.
The LNP has warned that it will not tolerate any form of violence that has the propensity to undermine the security of the state under the watchful eyes of Col. Patrick T. Sudue, Police Inspector General. The LNP has urged the public to use the law as a means of seeking redress. –Press release
