Police Re-arrest Drug Dealer

Police authorities are claiming to be baffled over the constant appearance of suspected drugs dealer Ikye Henry despite his previous arrest in December 2010.

Acting Media Relations Director Lewis Norman told reporters at the Central Police Headquarters last weekend that they arrested suspect Henry last Thursday Morning in the Old Road community, Sinkor with a huge quantity of dangerous substances.

The Police acting spokesman narrated that Henry was last year arrested on Carey Street at the Ebony Restaurant in Central Monrovia in connection with similar crime. He said the suspect was charged and subsequently forwarded to the Monrovia City Court at the Temple of Justice, following police investigation.

“But we wonder as to how suspect Henry resurfaced on the streets of Monrovia despite being arrested and sent to court by the police,” he said.

The LNP has, however, vowed intolerance against drugs suspects, saying it won’t allow individuals or group of people trading in drugs to go with impunity, thereby harminig the youths of the country.

“We remain on the alert that drugs suspects are arrested, charged and send to court,” he said.

Norman indicated that the police will keep in touch with the public to provide information on the suspects’ hideout that could lead to the arrest of additional drugs dealers.

Meanwhile, the police said the drugs have not been tested to establish its kind. Notwithstanding, suspect Ikye Henry is said to be under police custody for investigation.
