‘Post-election’ reshuffle in Bong

What appears to be a reshuffle has begun in the local administration of Bong County- just weeks following the holding of the Special Senatorial Elections.

According to information received by this paper, Mr. Jefferson Gbayan, a Personnel Analyst of the county who contested the county’s Senatorial seat on the ticket of the opposition Liberia Transformation Party in the just-ended elections, has been transferred as Budget Analyst- a position not yet understood by anyone in the county as far as the management of the county’s finances, while the Project Management Committee (PMC) is, at same time, responsible to manage the county funding as provided by the budget law.

Even though members of the county hierarchy have remained mute on the issue, Mr. Jefferson Gbayan has told our Bong County correspondent that his new preferment was a promotion.

He, however, refused to comment on whether his transfer was  the result of contesting the 2014 election which got him absent from his personnel analyst job.

Mr. Gbayan, still a student of the Cuttington University in Suakoko, Bong County, according to political pundits in the county, might step in the shoes of his predecessor Golred Pope, who had to travel with Superintendent Mappy on trips, “carrying her purse, but was not allowed to open it to know its contents before she made donations” at occasions.

Sources at the Gbarnga Administration Building- the seat of the county administration, have informed our correspondent that in the coming days, there would be more people  replacements of those perceived not to have supported the candidacy of former Superintendent R
anney Jackson- a choice of Superintendent Selena Polson Mappy in the 2014 Senatorial elections.
