Pres. Weah commissions NASSCORP’s Regional Hub

Tubmanburg, Bomi County-President George M. Weah on Tuesday dedicated the regional hub of the National Social Security and Social Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.

The newly dedicated hub, which has a bank, residences and offices will serve the country’s western cluster – Bomi, Grand Capemount and Gbapolu Counties.

Officials of NASSCORP told this paper that SIB Bank, formerly GN Bank would take over the banking facility which also has attached to it a residence for the Bank Manager to provide much needed commercial banking services that are lacking in the area.

The regional hub also has a residence for the NASSCORP’s Regional Director. Public Relations Director Mr. David Bekeh, said the new facility will also provide service to pensioners and companies in the western cluster.

Though the actual amount for the newly built regional hub was not disclosed, Mr. Bekeh explained that the project, which began in 2018, is part of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) deliverables.
He said like many of such facilities being built all over the country, the rationale is to bring social security closer to the people.
