Pres. Weah congratulates the Republic of Ireland

President George Manneh Weah has sent a message of Congratulations to the Government and People of the Republic of Ireland on the occasion marking the National Day of that country.
In the message to Irish President Michael Daniel Higgins, Mr. Weah extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in his own name to the Government and people of Ireland.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah expressed hope that as Ireland commemorates its National Day which is referred to as St. Patrick Day around the world, both Liberia and Ireland which have similar virtues of peaceful collaboration of nations will continue to work together for the protection of Women and minority groups toward the enhancement of human dignity.

The National Day of Ireland is now celebrated around the world by people of faiths.
St. Patrick who embodied the virtues of service, scholarship, forgiveness, peace and harmony throughout his lifespan has inspired the Government and People of Ireland to lead and inspire change around the world through humanitarian and other undertakings.

Mr. Weah also noted that the Liberian Government is proud to have inaugurated the Irish Embassy in Liberia which is a symbol of the growing ties between Ireland and Liberia.
He told his Irish counterpart that Liberia remains grateful to Ireland for all the assistance it continues to render Liberia geared towards the actualization of the Liberian Government’s Pro Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development.

President Weah further disclosed that Liberia, like Ireland share similar values of peaceful collaboration of nations and will continue to support actions that protect women and minority groups. He then wished for President Higgins personal wellbeing and to the people of Ireland peace and stability.
