President George Manneh Weah has expressed confidence that the relations between Liberia and the Republic of Venezuela will gain a new and elevated thrust, thereby creating the platform for an enhanced cooperation following the re-election President Nicolas Maduro.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, in the message to his Venezuelan counterpart, President Weah said Mr. Maduro’s successful reelection as President of Venezuela, “is undoubtedly an affirmation of the continued confidence reposed in you by the people of your great country.”
Mr. Weah further adds that he has no doubt that President Maduro’s second term will bring even greater prosperity to his people. “As you turn on this corner of your leadership journey, we look forward to further strengthening the friendship and cooperation so happily subsisting between our two countries and peoples, as we continue to forge common fronts for the promotion of International Peace, Security and Development,” he says.
President Weah then wished for the Venezuelan leader a continued good health and success as he embarks on his new term of office as President.–Press release
