Problems At Bong Mines Hospital

There are reports of increased deaths in Bong Mines, lower Bong County in central Liberia due to lack of medical doctors, nurses and drugs at the Bong Mines Hospital.

According to reports, patients seeking treatment but do not have money to travel to Kakata, Margibi County most times die.

“Bong Mines is the only hospital in the area catering to hundreds of sick people from towns and villages, but with the non availability of doctor(s), enough nurses and drugs, deaths are occurring daily,” a resident told this paper via mobile phone.

Another resident said most of the deaths are related to various diseases, including malaria, running stomach, among others.
