PROFIJ donates to Margibi flood victims

A local group, ‘Progressive Friends of Ivar K. Jones or PROFIJ, based in Margibi County has distributed several assorted materials, including cash to scores of flood victims in Margibi County.

Several parts of Margibi, especially Dolo Town and its environs were recently affected by severe floods following torrential downpour, rendering thousands of citizens homeless with properties destroyed.

According to a press release, PROFIJ provided over 50 bags of rice (25kgs), several bags of cement and cash to scores of affected citizens in District #2 and other affected communities in the county.

Making the donation, Mr. Ivar K. Jones said the gesture was his organization’s way of identifying with citizens, especially during times of natural disaster. He said the organization was formed to emulate one of the philosophies of former United States President John F. Kennedy who said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”

Mr. Jones is a successful businessman and CEO of Favor Marketing, dealers of scratch cards and other products as well as in partnership with several businesses, including petroleum importers and distributors. Press release
