Red Cross Bomi Chapter Outlines Activities

The Humanitarian Value Officer for the Liberia National Red Cross Society in Bomi County has outlined several activities being undertaken by the chapter. Mr. Joseph Fayomo Seth said the Red Cross is implementing water and sanitation programs in various communities in Bomi County.

Mr. Fayomo Seth said the Bomi Chapter is presently constructing hand pumps and latrines in 19 communities to help provide safe-drinking water and toilet facilities to the people.

He made the disclosure in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Tubmanburg City. He said the local Red Cross is also engaged its family tracing program in various communities to connect families and loved ones.

He said communities benefiting from the program include Beafinie and Beajah in Senjeh District; Managbokai in Klay District and Gbajah in Suehn Mecca District, respectively.

The Humanitarian Value Officer said one of the components of the Chapter in the county is to contribute to the country’s disaster management program. Mr. Fayomo Seth however said the lack of logistics is hampering the work in Bomi, adding that the Chapter has only one motorcycle.
