Rep. Chambers wants IAA Boss invited

Maryland County District Two Representative Bhofal Chambers wants theHouse of Representatives to invite the head of the Internal AuditAgency Mr. Paul C. Collins to appear before the House to substantiate claims that he (Rep. Chambers) along with several current and past lawmakers of misapplying funds allotted for the construction of the Bong Community College in Bong County.

“Interestingly, this ‘Audit Report’ was released to the public without any reference, whatsoever, to me, given the fact that my name has been mentioned”, he protested recently in a communication addressed to Plenary of the House of Representatives to have Mr. Collins invited to provide information that backs said allegations, taking into consideration the timeframe for the construction contract and all accounting ramification”, Rep. Chambers’ communication to Plenary further read.

According to him, the issue that has to do with the Bong CommunityCollege, linking him has no truth.

The Maryland lawmaker said he was partof the investment that was conducting building materials, but how it wentinto building structure he has no relationship in that process as he walked away since 2011.

He disclosed that the company in question was incorporated in February 2009, 20 months to beingawarded a US$4.3 million construction contract without evidence of prior experience.

It was not listed in the Ministry of Public Works’ Registry as acertified construction and consulting firm but was selected toimplement a major construction work.

After brief discussion in Plenary, Rep. Chambers’ communication was turned over tothe House Committee on Public Accounts, Ways, Means and Finance to report within two weeks.
