The newly elected Representative for Salala District in Lower Bong County, Madam Moima Briggs Mensah says women’s empowerment is one of the priorities on her agenda.
Speaking to reporters in Salala recently, the lawmaker said she has been working with women in her district and other parts of Bong and Liberia, adding she looks forward to having some partners to bring relief to women through loans and skill training programs.
“The women, as I’ve always been doing when I was in the campaign process, we have various women groups that we founded; we going to work with them because the problem is, for you to sustain the women group you have to make sure you have empowerment for them.”
Rep, Mensah says she will meet with all women groupings in the district to decide other programs that would improve the livelihood of women.According to her, farmers will also be prioritized to enable the, have enough food and tools for farming in order to become self-sufficient and take proper care of their children.
