Newly inducted Maryland County Electoral District #2 Representative Mr. Anthony F. Williams has donated a new ambulance and 200 gallons of fuel to the Pleebo Health Center.
The donation ceremony was held on Monday, 12 February 2024, and brought together Chiefs, Elders, District Officials, Rural Women, and Health Authorities within the district.
Delivering the ambulance, Representative Williams said the donation of the ambulance was his way of giving back to the district, knowing the passion and quality he has attached to the district and its people.
He maintained that the district deserves more of the opportunities because, over time, the health center and its authorities have been calling for help.
The Maryland lawmaker has lauded the people of Pleebo Sodoken district for the overwhelming victory they gave him in the just-ended rerun election in old Sodoken town.
“Let me say to my people today, I am who I am and I have what I have because of you. You made me and so I owe a lot to you. This is one of the many contributions I want to make to the people of Pleebo district,” said Representative Williams.
He acknowledged the passion and dedication of Pleebo citizens in their pursuit of a better future.
Williams also challenged all to channel their energies into productive discussions and peaceful actions, emphasizing that together, they can achieve their aspirations and bring about positive change.
The Maryland County District #2 lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to the development earmarked for Pleebo.
“The well-being and progress of the district remains a top priority. Rest assured, the earmarked development projects will continue as planned, and the people of Pleebo will see positive changes that will improve their quality of life,” he stated.
In response, Mr. Garrison N. Sayor, Pleebo Health Center Administrator expressed heartfelt gratitude for the Representative’s support.
He highlighted the positive impact of the donation, adding that the ambulance will respond effectively to medical emergencies and transport patients to specialized care facilities when needed.
For his part, Solomon S. Hne, Acting City mayor of Pleebo, on behalf of the local government thanked Representative Williams for the gesture.
According to him the donation of the ambulance will serve as a relief to the healthcare and assist community members.
