The mind is the seat of wealth or poverty. The mind is the chamber of possibility or impossibility. Some minds can see what others can’t. A blind man is not the one without physical sight but one whose mind in blinded to possibilities. There are no dry lands anywhere only dry minds exist. Many times we are blinded by circumstances that we refuse to see the pot of gold that lies within.
No man was created to be poor. Everyman is created with uncommon potentials for wealth and success. Within you are talents, gifts, potentials and resources that can determine your next level. Africa is often called “a third world continent, poor or underdeveloped.” It is hard to admit that Africa is poor if you take a statistics of wealth, or natural resources we possess. Oil, gold, diamond, timber, rich vegetation, and good climatic condition that could grow any plant we desire, yet we are called poor?
This proves to you that what makes a man poor is not lack of money but lack of knowledge and right application that produces the right results. Think about this, we export crude oil yet import petroleum, deciles, gasoline, all of which are bye product of crude oil. What we need to make a difference as a continent is not only resources but knowledge and will power to make sacrifices that will produce desired results.
Many times Africans blame their set back on colonialism which is totally untrue because even America and other great nations were colonized as history reveals. The difference between you and the people you admire is that they refused to stay in the position life placed them.
I often tell people that life is unfair. Life does not give you what you desire but what you demand. If you must rise above poverty, rise first in your mind. Lack of money in your pocket does not make you poor, but lack of hope, dreams or vision. Having millions in your account does not make you rich if your mind is subjected to poverty. I have seen people who squander money anyhow, because their mind is not trained to handle wealth.
Real money is not paper or legal tender we spend but an invention of the mind. No wonder, idea rules the world. A man with idea will always be richer than one who has money without ideas. When a man of idea meets one who has money there will be an exchange and the one with ideas will be richer in no time. Money and wealth serve men and women full of ideas. Poverty is not big enough to limit a man full of ideas, who will not give up in the midst of seeming challenges but keeps moving till he sees the desires of his heart come to pass.
The first key to rising above poverty is to believe that you are rich. Wealth that you cannot phantom in your mind can never be accumulated. Money will always come to those who have it in their mind. Your mind is an essential part of your being; if your mind is rich you are truly rich. Rich minds attract wealth but poor minds attract poverty. The size of your pocket can never be bigger than your mind can conceive. Poverty attracts defeat, sees no future or anything good about life. Poverty in the pocket with a rich mind means hope, but money in the pocket with poverty mindedness leads to failure.
The difference between the rich and the poor is that the rich know how to invent money while the poor recycles it. Money serves the rich but the poor serve money. If all you think of every year is salary and not purpose or destiny you need to liberate yourself from poverty mindedness.
There is difference between broke and poverty. That I am broke does not mean I’m poor. To be broke is to be temporarily out of cash, but poverty is slavery of the mind. How do you see yourself, do you have a plan, have you discovered your purpose or talent? If you have, rising above poverty means putting your gifts to work. If all you can do is sing, dance, write, make people laugh, fight, or think, you are on the path of success because every gift has potentials for wealth and success, if you work hard at it and strategically package it as a product for others to buy.
Stop complaining about your country start looking at problems around you as opportunities for success. Problems produces wealth, all you need is provide solutions with the right price tag to the right people. Now is the time to rise above failure, no going back, do something today, if you truly desire success.
