Rivercess: Citizens Hail Dev. Plan

Reports from the south eastern county of Rivercess say, the citizens have unanimously agreed with development proposal from the county leadership for the usage of the US$550,000.00 of the oil exploration money.

According to our correspondent, the locals reached the consensus during a well attended meeting Last week which was held in the county.

The people agreed that US$28,000.00 should be used for the construction of each commissioner’s compound within 8 of the districts. But Yarnee, one of the districts said it wants ferry to be used on the Cestos River and rehabilitation of roads.

In addition, our correspondent said an amount of US$10,000.00 was agreed upon for the construction of a Nursing Headquarters.

Other projects earmarked are US$20,000.00 for Disable Home, US$10,000.00 for the Traditional Council, US$50,000.00 for the layout of Cestos City, US$10,000.00 for its electricity as well as  US$5,000.00 for the renovation of a Nigerian teachers quarters, and US$112,000.00 for road network in the Cestos city.

The meeting was attended by the county Junior Senator, George Moore, Rep. Elizabeth Williams, Supt. Geevon Smith, District Superintendents, Commissioners, and Paramount Chiefs among others.
