Roberts Flight minister council meets in Liberia

A one-day extraordinary meeting of the ministerial council of the Roberts Flight Information Region(RFIR) was held Thursday, May 5, at the Roberts International Airport in Margibi County.

According to the Ministry of Transport in Monrovia, the meeting was in continuation of an earlier ordinary meeting of the council of ministers held in Conakry, Guinea in March this year. The release says ministers of the regional body deliberated on the succession plan within the organization, among other matters.

During the opening session, Liberia’s Transport Minister, Madam Angela Cassell Bush, wholeheartedly welcomed her colleagues, Hon. OyeGuilavogui, Minister of Transport of Guinea, and Hon. Leonard BalongoKoroma, Minister of Transport of Sierra Leone, and members of their delegation to Liberia and expressed optimism that the meeting will be characterized by mutual understanding so that it will achieve its objectives to forge regional cooperation.

The release added that the Guinean Minister of Transport Guilavoguiexpressed delight for being in Liberia for the first time and considers Liberia as his home. Mr. Guilavoguicalled on his colleagues to engage the meeting with open minds so that pertinent issues especially, the succession plan in the organization that was not resolve during the last Ministerial Council held in Conakry can be amicably laid to rest.

The release added that a close meeting was suggested and unanimously agreed upon by the ministers that members of the Technical Committee of the RFIR which comprised of the Director General of Civil Aviation of member states, and the Secretariat headed by the Secretary General.Press release
