Ruling Upheld Against Nimba United

The Appeal Committee of the Liberia Football Association has upheld the ruling of the LFA Grievance and Disciplinary Committee of August 20, 2013, suspending the President of first division side Nimba United, Aldophus Dolo for two years, and finding  his Club US$5,000 in accordance with Article 135 of the CAF Disciplinary Code.

According to the Code, with the decision of the Appeal Committee, Nimba United will have to endure further punishment for failing the appeal. On June 5, 2013, Watanga F.C filed a case against Nimba United F.C to the Grievance Committee through the FA Secretariat on the ineligibility of Player Charles A. George.

According to the Appeal Committee, it observed that “three of the four certificates displayed were exactly what the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare attached to their communication but they were not submitted to the Grievance and Disciplinary Committee initially at the hearing and therefore they cannot pass on them.

The Committee did not accept new evidence or documents but only dealt with what had earlier being submitted to the Grievance Committee”.

Meanwhile, the LFA has accepted the ruling and promised to implement it to the letter. At the same time, the LFA says it has forwarded cases related to the fraudulent acts of Nimba United in falsifying documents to the Appeal Committee for final ruling.
