Saclepea Rioters Identified

Police investigators have released the names of the 8 additional suspected rioters arrested and detained in Seclepea, Nimba County last week.

In an update Tuesday, police spokesman George Bardue said those arrested in connection with the burning of the Seclepea Police Station are Daddy Kwai Nuah (33), Paul Konmah (23), Jenkins Zogbay (26) and Melvin Memma (22). Others are Nakewon Tommah (24), Stephen Yarmie (33), Leo Dennis (21) and Harrison Quoi (28).

It can be recalled that suspect Quoi reportedly confessed facilitating the escape of an unspecified number of inmates by breaking the walls of the police station. He was quoted as telling police probe that although he was among the angry crowd, he did not participate in the attack on the police station.

The Saclepea police station was burnt down last month by protesters, mainly motorcyclists, after a motor cyclist died in an accident with an UNMIL vehicle. Reports say the crowd burnt the station due to police’s intervention to allegedly rescue the UNMIL vehicle operator from mob
