Security guard dies on duty

A 40-year-old private security guard has been found dead in front of a branch of Lucky Pharmacy in Ganta, Nimba County. The late Cooper Tarwuo was reportedly a resident of Zuolay, district #9 in Nimba County, but had relocated to Ganta, where he was working as a private security guard, assigned to the pharmacy.

The management of Lucky Pharmacy in Ganta told The NewDawn Nimba correspondent that the late Cooper Tarwuo had complained of illness and was told not to report to work the following day.

But the management expressed surprise that the next day, the late Cooper Tarwuo’s body was laying in front of the pharmacy with the pharmacy keys and other office keys in his possession. Lucky Pharmacy Ganta Branch manager, Vijaj Kuidau, told our correspondent that the deceased was employed with the entity on May 1, 2014.

A SEGAL security guard assigned to GT Bank branch in Ganta narrated that he and the late Tarwuo along with group of SEGAL security officers were together, playing and talking prior to his death.

The SEGAL officer expressed shock that at about 2:50 am Tarwuo’s body was found lying in front of the pharmacy, leading them to subsequently contact the Police. A doctor from the Ganta Methodist Hospital who viewed the body, pronounced the victim dead. Police in Ganta have launched a probe into the mysterious death.
