Senate President Pro-temp applauds Muslims

The President Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate, Sen. Armah Z. Jallah has congratulated Muslims in and outside of Liberia for a successful completion of the Holy Ramadan, a month of prayers and fast.

“I want to commend Muslims for interceding on behalf of the Liberian Senate and people of Liberia as we strive to build a wholesome functioning society that fosters economic development, social protection and equity’’, he expressed.

Pro-Tempore Jallah said the month of Ramadan is one of the religious pillars on which Islam was founded, and during such times, Muslims engage in intensive fasting and praying. Speaking Wednesday, 6 July at the Capitol, he said Muslims have contributed so immensely to the forward match of the country, including maintenance of peace.

Muslims around the world annually observe Ramadan as a key practice in Islam in accordance with the Holy Quran. The exercise started here from 6 June to 6 July 2016.

Muslims are part of the national embodiment and social and political fabrics of Liberia, and they ought to be peaceful, law abiding as we take charge of the country peace and security initiative, Sen. Jallah emphasized.

He also stressed that Liberians must at all times demonstrate restrain and resilience in consolidating and deepening socio-economic and political stability rather than threading on dangerous path of violence.
