Service centers staffs training underway

Over one hundred fifteen (115) staff of several Ministries, Agencies and Commissions (MACS) involved in the implementation of the National Deconcentration Platform on Monday began a week-long training exercise in Monrovia. The training exercise is under the auspice of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The staff undergoing the training were selected by their institutions from the counties to serve in upcoming County Service Centers in four counties, Sanniquellie, Nimba County, Gbarnga, Bong County, Voinjama, Lofa County and kakata, Margibi County respectively.

A release from the Ministry of Internal Affairs said the CSC staff training exercise comes ahead of the opening of four additional Centers. County Service Center(CSC) a key component of the National Deconcentration Platform, which is primarily intended to bring services closer to the people.

County Service Center (CSC) is also a one-stop shop where documentation services relating to permits, licenses and certifications are offered at same quality and cost in Monrovia. Speaking at the opening of the training, Deputy Internal Affairs Minister for Administration, Mr. Varney A. Sirleaf called on the participants to take the training seriously, because according to him, effective service delivery is a matter must for the Liberian Government.

He said the establishment of County Service Centers (CSC) will reduce the constraints many people experience while obtaining services in Monrovia. Other profile personalities who graced the opening of the training exercise were Cllr. YarsuoWeh-Dorliae, Commissioner of the Governance Commission (GC), Assistant Labor Minister Hon. Prince Korvah, and Jens Christensen, Special to the DSRSG/Peace consolidation Services of UNMIL among others.

The facilitators include Dr. Roosevelt G, Jayjay, National Program Director and team of the Decentralization Implimentation Secretariat and Mr. Sagacious M. Gardoe, Grand Bassa County Service Center Coordinator among others.
