The Southeastern Women Development Association (SEWODA) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) have completed a community leadership training forum in Harper, Maryland County.
The roundtable held under the theme, “Promoting Dialogue to ensure peaceful elections” took place at the Catholic Pastoral Center in Harper. The meeting was intended to enable community leaders redefine their various roles in how they can effectively perform to ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
SEWODA Program Manager, George Weah, (not CDC’s political leader George Manneh Weah) said the forum also sorted possible hurdles and solutions to achieving non-violent elections.
The meeting, which brought to go political parties, community leaders, civil society organizations, the National Elections Commission and the media reached a general consensus to effectively play their respective roles in achieving peaceful elections here.
