Sinoe Port Dredging Almost Done
The Grand Bassa-based Buchanan Renewable Company or BR is at the verge of completing the dredging of ship wreckage from the Samuel J. Russ Port, otherwise known as the Port of Greenville in Sinoe County.
The dredging exercise started since January this year, and is expected to be done shortly. Neck Taylor, a Chief Diver, who heads the exercise, said the work should have been completed since last month (April), but the huge quantity of goods on board the ship has been responsible for the delay.
The goods, which include cement, rice, as well as gasoline, motorcycles, among others were kept in the basement of the ship when it sank sometimes ago at the Port of Greenville.
In a related development, the BR is expected to take over the Sinoe rubber plantations for proper management. The company will also begin the replanting of rubber trees for the next 7 years.
