Inhabitants of Slipway Community, Electoral District #8, Montserrado County have elected Mr. Isaac K. Krah as community chairman, ending the community’s leadership crisis.Mr. Krah was elected following an election held in the community recently after defeating two of his rival contestants.
He received an overwhelming majority of 300 votes. Addressing his supporters and residents of Slipway following his election, Mr. Krah extends a hand of friendship and reconciliation to candidates that contested in the election but did not win.
The election was declared free and fair by the election commission. Previous elections held in the community ended in deadlock, thereby compelling the elections commission to postpone the process many times.
It can be recalled that during a previous election, one of those serving as security for the election process died out of electoral violence. The victim was allegedly pushed into the St. Paul River during a scuffle that ensued between him and supporters of rival candidates.
