The Political Leader of the All Liberian Party or ALP, Benoni Urey, has claimed that he is being widely criticized unnecessarily in the country for his level of achievements in the business sector.
“I don’t know what’s wrong that certain people can just say anything against me simply because they don’t like us; but I say to you, negative and unnecessary criticisms against me and Lonestar cell MTN have the ability to undermine our reputation, and damage our image out there. if we continue to criticized people negatively or unnecessary in this country only because they are business minded or because they engage themselves in initiatives that benefit many citizens across the country, then it is unfortunate,” he said.
Despite its success in the Liberian market, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lonestar Cell MTN, said the company has been a victim of unnecessary criticisms for the past time. “We have been prosecuted socially and politically for our success in the business. We need to praise successful Liberians for their innovations and not to launch attacks on them because we hate for them,” he said.
However, the Lonestar Cell MTN Board Chairman said in spite of the many challenges, the company was still committed to delivering quality services to the people of Liberia. He lauded the Liberia Telecommunications Authority or LTA for its important role in regulating the telecommunication sector.
According to him, no matter what happens, if Lonestar cell MTN wants to increase its promo from 3 days just for 1 dollar, nothing was wrong, but a matter of paying its taxes to the government, noting that a single company should not be strangulated with taxes, while the other go free.
The ALP Leader spoke Thursday, July, 14, 2016 during a colourful program in observance of the 15th year- anniversary celebration and unveiling of the new logo of Lonestar cell MTN. The anniversary celebration was held on 3rd street in Sinkor.
Representative Numinee Bartekwa – Chairman of Posts and Telecommunications at the House of Representatives, showered praises on the company for braving the storm over the past 15 years, especially during the troubling time of Liberia to invest here.
“During the past 15 years, no one dare easily to come and invest here, but your company came and invested, and I am a living witness to that. On this occasion of your 15th anniversary, I want to congratulate you,” said the Grand Kru County Lawmaker.
