Subscribers Win More Mobile Money Prizes

The New Dawn Liberia The New Dawn LiberiaLoneStar Cell MTN has awarded several prizes to subscribers of the company’s Mobile Money Promotion. The country’s premier GSM Company began giving away prizes to winners of its Mobile Money Promotion since March 23, 2012.

The program has so far produced over 25 lucky winners, who are usually seen walking away with various prizes, including Tiger Generators, DVD Players, and 21′ Color Television, amongst others.

Most of the winners are from rural Liberia, particularly Nimba, Bong and Grand Bassa counties as well as Montserrado. At the launch of the Mobile Money Promotion in March, more than 3,800 subscribers participated in the draw.

However most them could not be reached immediately by Lonestar Cell MTN despite several dials; mobile phones of some of the winners’ were switched off even up to present, while others responded to the calls, but could not come for their prizes due to distance.

LoneStar Cell Mobile Money Manager, Samelia Dempster-Tweh said, those prizes will be kept until the actual winners are contacted via their numbers. On Wednesday, the company again gave away more prizes to lucky winners for its week-six draw.

Joyfully receiving his Tiger Generator as winner of the Mobile Money draw yesterday, an A/C technician Augustine Koffa, who works with the Buchannan Renewable Energy (BRE) in Grand Bassa County, praised LoneStar Cell MTN for creating more avenues for subscribers to benefit.

Koffa said he now realize the importance of the service, adding he had always used Mobile Money service to get money from his office in Buchannan without a long banking process.

Another winner lucky Andrew Kollie from Gbarnga, Bong County also walked away with 21′ television, while Patricia Lah of the Cuttington University in Bong County won L$7000 free shopping from the UN Drive Supermarket.

Speaking to this paper, LoneStar Cell Mobile Money Manager, Samelia Dempster-Tweh thanked the winners for using the service and encouraged its many subscribers participate in the promotion.

Madam Dempster-Tweh noted that the Mobile Money Promotion draw should have ended on May 15, 2012, but the time has been extended again to afford subscribers an opportunity to win more prizes.

“It will help people to send money to relatives, friends and loved ones outside Monrovia via the telephone”, she added. Mobile Money is a financial service launched jointly by Ecobank Liberia Limited and LoneStar Cell MTN here to transact money business via mobile phone.
