Suspected Thief Found Dead in Doe Community

The dead body of an unidentified man suspected to be a thief has been discovered in a pool of blood on the main road leading into the Samuel Kanyon Doe Community on Bushrod Island. Onlookers said the victim, believed to been in his early 20s, might have allegedly been killed by angry mob following an unsuccessful criminal mission in the community.

Reports gathered in the community revealed that about three criminals were chased at about 4:00 A.M. on Monday, August 8, 2011 by unknown persons after some residents alarmed that suspected thieves had broken into their room.

Several passersby said they heard noise throughout the community early that morning, but were afraid to come out door to avoid being mistaken for thieves and therefore, harmed by unknown persons in the dark. Two other suspects reportedly escaped the scene, while the deceased believed to be from the Mandingo tribe was caught and beaten.

Meanwhile, his death is said to have raised serious insecurity issue  in the Doe Community with individuals believed to be his kinsmen from Clara Town and other surrounding communities threatening to revenge by going after any member of the community at night if those responsible for his murder do not show themselves.

Sources hinted this paper that on Monday evening, August 8, 2011, several angry men stormed the community in search of those who allegedly killed the suspect in order to treat them in similar manner. The body was reportedly collected from the street on Monday by persons believed to be family members or friends.
