Taskforce confiscates 24 vehicles in Bong

Report reaching this paper says the Special Presidential Task Force (SPTF) in Bong County has confiscated a total of 24 vehicles believed to be government – owned.


The special task force was set up by President George Manneh Weah to impound all government vehicles from former officials. Mr. Sam Baryokar Elliot is leading the task force in Bong County, retrieving vehicles allegedly belonging to government but being possessed by former officials.

Our correspondent says some of the vehicles confiscated include Toyota Pickup marked Ministry of Justice, Bong County Technical Colleague, Ministry of Agriculture and a jeep with a prescription “Phebe Hospital and School of Nursing”.

Speaking in an interview with this paper at this Taskforce office in Gbarnga, the Head of the Taskforce Mr. Sam Baryokar Elliot announced that 24 of the confiscated vehicles have already been sent to Monrovia.

He says additional three vehicles are at the police station in Bong, pending investigation. He assured citizens in the county not to panic because he will ensure the implementation t of the President’s mandate to the letter.

“This is my work and I will do it without intimidation from any other person,” he says. Also speaking to our Bong County correspondent, some residents said they were impressed by the number of vehicles confiscated by Task Force in the county.
